Their inability to de-escalate a highly charged situation showed me their true colors.
You see, when I was in San Diego, I was busy writing a Facebook post about the spiritual dynamics behind storing chicken bones in the freezer when an Asian guy showed up and demanded to plug his cell phone into the power outlet at my table. I was happy to oblige but when he started to lose his temper – and looked like he was going to push me out of my seat – I got quite annoyed and defensive. I told him to leave.
He expressed his anger further by sending my blue suitcase flying across the carpet. I was amazed at how quickly all this happened. The general manager and security guy got pulled in and somehow found a reason to throw me out – without even trying to understand what really happened.
I wished people would understand that a positive tone makes a world of difference, but I guess if you have a spirit of hate in you, no amount of mood boosting activities will alleviate your stress. You may often feel like the world is against you even when it is not. Escaping with the legally available stuff is only a temporary solution.
Let’s look at its impact on America. The number one reason for division is the spirit of hate. It is what divides entire people groups – and even families.
The second is apathy. It either causes people to “not give a shit” or feel less compassionate toward others. Imagine what you get when you combine hate and apathy together. Cast them out!
Back to Panera Bread. If they are really that health conscious, then why are they selling a candy cookie that will set you back by 420 calories – with all the colors of the rainbow embedded in it? Trying to make themselves feel better, are they?
